On Saturday, December 31, 2022, Allen Granville Derby, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away suddenly at the age of seventy-six. He was born to Lois and Harry Granville Derby, and he graduated from Hampton High School in 1964. After high school he went on to serve in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He had a successful career as a Government Contracts Manager for Jacobs Technology. He was a diehard Redskins fan, and he loved to golf. He always had an entertaining story to tell, and he could not resist a good political debate. He often used his quick wit and humor to get a rise out of his friends and family-always with a twinkle in his eye and a grin on his face.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Carole; his daughters, Katherine, Melissa (Eric), and Jennifer (Mike); his stepsons, Chad (Tiffany) and Jordan; and his grandchildren, Madison, Bradleigh, Dylan, Tyler, and Gwen; and brother, Keith (Terry), and sister, Janice (Don). A private viewing was held on Monday, January 9, at Roberts Funeral Home Bruce Chapel West in Ocala, FL. Afterwards, a celebration of his life was held at his home in Ocala, poolside, overlooking the 12th green of the Summerglen Golf Course, his favorite place on Earth.
