Referees needed for Ocala’s Futsal program

The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department is seeking individuals who are interested in serving as referees for the city’s Futsal program.

Futsal is a form of soccer that is played indoors on a much smaller court. The recreation and parks department is ideally looking for referees who have a basic knowledge of soccer, though staff members are willing to train the right person.

The season will be played on Thursdays and Fridays beginning on June 22 through July 13 at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center, which is located at 1821 NW 21st Avenue in Ocala.

The time commitment for each referee is 1.5 to 2 hours on game nights throughout the season. According to the city, all referees will be compensated for their time.
