Fatal shooting at Monterey Boats in Williston, shooter at large

(Update: Shortly after 7:20 p.m. on Monday, June 19, Williston Police Chief Mike Rolls released the following statement on social media: “With the dedicated support of other law enforcement agencies the suspect has been located and is no longer a threat to the public and the victim’s family.”)

The Williston Police Department is looking for a 31-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed a woman at a boat shop on Monday morning.

Shortly after 5:15 a.m., WPD officers responded to Monterey Boats located at 636 N Main Street in Williston in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound, according to the police department.

In a social media post, WPD identified the shooting suspect as Jonathon Jerome Segar. According to police, Segar and the victim had a prior domestic relationship.

Williston police are looking for Jonathon Jerome Segar, 31, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday morning. He is believed to be driving a Chevrolet truck with blue and yellow graphics.

Segar was last seen driving a Chevrolet truck with blue and yellow graphics stating “DGD” (Discount Garage Doors). Segar fled the area prior to the arrival of law enforcement, and detectives believe that he is no longer in Levy County, according to WPD.

The Williston Police Department, Levy County Sheriff’s Office, and the 8th Judicial State Attorney’s Office are working jointly in this investigation to locate and detain Segar.
