Chester “Chet” Ancil Taylor, 84, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away peacefully in his Ocala, Florida home on June 27, 2023.

Chet was born on May 21, 1939 to Chester and Ida Mae Taylor in Muncie, Indiana. After Chet graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1957, he went on to attend the University of New Mexico on a baseball scholarship. During high school Chet played baseball, football, basketball and was a diver on the swim team.

Chet started his first job at Muncie Bread Company as a salesman and retired from Colonial Bread Company.

In 1994, Chet retired and spent his time gardening and playing golf and softball. Chet was always available to help all in need and served the community by volunteering for the Harvest Food Bank. He also enjoyed caring for animals. Chet especially enjoyed meeting weekly with his high school friends for breakfast to reminisce about the good old days. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who cherished the time he spent with his family. Later in his life, Chet renewed his strong belief in God. Chet was loved by many and will be in our hearts forever.

Chet was predeceased by his son Randy Taylor, his father Chester Taylor, and his mother Ida Mae Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Gloria Jean Taylor of Ocala, Florida, his sister Jackie Michaels of Largo, Florida, his daughter Myschael Heritage of Muncie, Indiana, his daughter and son in law Kim and Mike Sinclair of Pasadena California, his step son and step daughter in law Michael and Barbara Ordish of Ocala, Florida, his step daughter and step son in law Michelle and Robbie Tipton of Hawthorne, Florida, his grandchildren Merideth Carpenter, Mitch Stamper, Paul Sinclair, Jack Sinclair, Scott Ordish, Olivia Ordish and Alyssa Ordish and his great grandchildren Corbin Carpenter, Piper Carpenter, Major Stamper.

Chet wished to have a private family memorial to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Harvest Food Bank in Muncie, Indiana, an organization Chet volunteered for and felt strongly about.

Rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
