Downed power line closes Citra Recycling Center

(Update: At 1 p.m. on Friday, June 30, Marion County announced that the Citra Recycling Center has reopened “thanks to the quick work of utility crews” who repaired a power line in the area.)

The Citra Recycling Center is temporarily closed due to a downed power line in the area.

According to a press release from Marion County, the Citra Recycling Center (17780 NE 19th Court) will remain closed until further notice to allow crews to safely remove the downed power line.

Residents who pay an annual assessment fee to use the recycling centers at no additional cost will be able to utilize the following facilities during this closure:

  • Orange Lake Recycling Center (18290 NW 53rd Court Road in Orange Lake).
  • Orange Springs Recycling Center (11095 E Highway 318 in Orange Springs).
  • Newton Recycling Center (1750 NW 100th Street in Ocala).

Recycling centers, which are closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, typically follow these operating hours:

  • Monday and Wednesday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
