Fire engulfs motorhome in Marion County

Marion County firefighters were dispatched to the 10700 block of NE 224th Place Road in Fort McCoy on Wednesday night after receiving reports of a structure fire in the area.

Shortly before 10:20 p.m., Marion County Fire Rescue’s Fort McCoy Rescue #7 unit arrived on scene and observed an RV motorhome that was fully engulfed in flames. Minutes later, an additional unit, Engine #7, arrived at the motorhome to assist with extinguishing the fire.

Firefighters deployed hose lines and began battling the fire as crews also worked to protect the structure adjoining the RV.

The flames were quickly extinguished, and MCFR called the fire under control by 10:32 p.m. There were no injuries reported to civilians or firefighters.

The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation.
