Firefighters were dispatched to the 700 block of SE 28th Street in Ocala on Tuesday after receiving reports that a residence was on fire.
Shortly after 11:50 a.m., Marion County Fire Rescue and Ocala Fire Rescue units arrived at the home and observed flames on the roof. According to MCFR, a woman and dog had safely exited the residence prior to the arrival of firefighters.
MCFR and OFR crews immediately began attacking the flames, and the fire was called under control at 12:05 p.m.
There were no injuries reported to civilians or firefighters.
The cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation.
In a social media post, Marion County Fire Rescue stated that its automatic aide agreement with Ocala Fire Rescue “served our citizens well” by quickly extinguishing the house fire.
