A new dance studio offering high-end education for aspiring dancers has opened in Ocala.
Stellar Dance Studio, which is located at 3045 SE 3rd Avenue, Suite B in Ocala, celebrated its grand opening on July 22.
The dance studio is open to students of all ages and abilities. While the facility specializes in jazz, acrobatics, and hip-hop, its dancers take pride in being well-versed in other genres as well, according to Stellar Dance Studio’s website.
The facility offers summer group classes, seasonal classes, and private one-on-one and two-on-one training sessions. The dance studio strives to provide a positive environment for its student dancers where they can feel empowered, comfortable, and free to express themselves.
The owner and director of Stellar Dance Studio, Sarah Jolee LaRocque, began training at the young age of three with hula dancing in Hawaii, and she joined a Florida dance studio’s dance team at the age of nine. Over the years, she has become well-versed in jazz, hip hop, acrobatic arts, tap, ballet, and lyrical, as well as aerial circus acts including silks and lyra.
LaRocque has taught dance for nearly a decade, and her passion for dance inspired her to open up her own studio. She created Stellar Dance Studio because she wanted to offer high-end training to dancers in Ocala/Marion County.
“We’re not just teaching steps; we give our students life lessons, tools, and prominent memories that will last a lifetime,” states Stellar Dance Studio on its website. “Dance is an excellent way to develop life-long friendships and instill the enjoyment of physical activity while encouraging individual artistic growth.”
Stellar Dance Studio is open Monday through Friday (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and Saturday (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.). The facility is closed on Sunday.
