Marion County Chili Cook-Off returns this Saturday

The Marion County Chili Cook-Off will return to the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion this Saturday for its 42nd annual installment.

The event will take place on Saturday, November 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion (2232 NE Jacksonville Road), and local businesses and organizations will compete to see who has the best chili in Marion County.

Chili samples will be available at each team’s booth, and visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite chili and booth. The event will also include craft beer, a car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., a children’s area featuring carnival games and crafts, a bake sale, and more.

Since 1981, the Marion County Cook-Off has served as an annual fundraiser to benefit The Cornerstone School. According to the school, its mission is to hold a community event that emphasizes tradition, food, family, and fun, while creating relationships between businesses and organizations in Marion County.

The funds that are raised throughout the event will be used for The Cornerstone School’s general needs, including technology, safety, and school-wide improvements.
