Man dies after crashing into fence, utility trailer in NE Ocala

A 48-year-old man from Reddick died on Sunday evening after crashing his vehicle near an intersection in northeast Ocala.

At around 5:40 p.m., the man was traveling northbound on County Road 200A, near the intersection of NE 63rd Street, in an SUV, according to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report.

FHP stated that the SUV proceeded to cross over the southbound lane before entering the west shoulder. Moments later, the vehicle traveled onto private property where it struck a mailbox, fence, and utility trailer.

The driver and sole occupant of the SUV was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, according to the report.

The name of the driver involved in the crash was not released by the Florida Highway Patrol.
