Popeyes has announced plans to open a new location in Ocala within one of the most well-trafficked facilities in the city.
The Louisiana-based chain is currently working on a new spot at the Paddock Mall. A listing for the new location has been created on the company’s website.
In addition to the listing for the mall, the company’s website indicates there may be another new location in Ocala in the works.
That restaurant is seemingly planned for 2400 NE 49th Terrace, in the Six Gun Corners plaza in east Ocala.
No additional details, including hours of operation, or potential opening dates, have been made available to the public.
Located at 3100 SW Hwy 200 in Ocala, the mall currently features over a half-dozen fast casual national brands, including Charley’s Cheesesteaks, Sbarro, and Starbucks.
Chick-fil-A also operates one of its three Ocala locations at the mall, just next to the food court.
The new Popeyes restaurants will join a changing landscape across Ocala for the restaurant franchise, which was founded in New Orleans in 1972 by Al Copeland.
In 2022, the company’s location at 1713 Pine Avenue was ravaged by storms. As a result, the business was closed for many months to undergo necessary renovations. That restaurant has since reopened.
Additionally, the company’s location along SW Hwy 484 temporarily closed down last year and has not reopened. The facility is still listed as “temporarily closed” on Google.
