A new bakery that serves coffee, hand-rolled bagels, sourdoughs and other baked goods has just opened its doors in downtown Ocala.
Night Owl Bakery has officially opened for business at 56 SE 1st Avenue. The new business replaced the old Soleil, which consolidated its two locations into one earlier this year.
Owned and operated by Jessica Ferrara, Night Owl Bakery sells a variety of baked goods, including breads, baguettes, slow-rise sourdoughs, and house-made bagels that can be accompanied by house-blended cream cheeses.
Featured breads include loaves, soft rolls, crusty rolls, and garlic rosemary potato rolls. Featured sourdough flavors include classic, jalapeño cheddar, cranberry raisin, chocolate chip, and Kalamata olive.
For those with a sweet tooth, the business features a rotating menu of daily baked treats, including cookies, scones, carrot cake, chocolate pumpkin caramel cake, and bread pudding, among others.
In addition to its baked goods, the business also serves up local coffee and espresso, as well as fresh sandwiches.
The business will be open Wednesday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended hours for last-minute pickups. It will be closed for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, and will reopen on Saturday, November 29.

Night Owl Bakery joins at least a half dozen other businesses that have opened new locations in downtown Ocala over the past two years. That includes RHN Wagyu Meat Market, Barons Creek Vineyards, MOOYAH Burgers, Mellow Mushroom, and District Bar & Kitchen. Brown Dog Coffeehouse, which opened in downtown last fall, just recently announced that it will permanently close and be replaced by another cafe.
