Woman who reeked of alcohol jailed after going berserk outside Belleview pub

Rosanna Marie Oday

A screaming 35-year-old woman was arrested recently after causing a ruckus at a Belleview bar.

Belleview Police officers were called to Bumpers Pub at 10837 SE U.S. Hwy. 441 on Nov. 11 and when they arrived, they saw 35-yer-old Rosanna Marie Oday exit the bar while yelling and screaming. Officers made contact with Oday while she was speaking to a 911 operator and told her to hang up and speak with them. But she continued to yell while employees exited surrounding businesses in the Belleview Square plaza, a police report states.

Officers again told Oday to hang up and speak with them but she continued to yell. She was told to put her hands behind her back and she dropped to her knees and put her hands under her chest in an apparent attempt to keep from being placed in handcuffs, the report says.

Officers were able to pull Oday’s arms out from underneath her and she was handcuffed and place inside a police cruiser. Officers noted that Oday “smelled strongly” of an alcoholic beverage, was slurring her words and “appeared under the influence of alcoholic beverages and illegal substances,” the report says.

Oday, who lives in the 11700 block of S Hwy. 301 in Belleview, was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting an officer without violence. She was released Tuesday night on her own recognizance and is due in court Dec. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
