Pair of saddles with a combined value of $5,500 stolen from vehicle in Ocala

A pair of saddles with a combined value of $5,500 were stolen from a vehicle early Sunday in the Ocala Palms community.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded in reference to a vehicle burglary, according to an MCSO incident report. The officer made contact with the victim who said that unknown persons entered her unlocked vehicle and stole two saddles and two pads, the report stated. The victim advised the officer that she went to bed around 11 p.m. Saturday and was woken up at 8:30 a.m. Sunday by a neighbor who advised her that the hatchback to the victim’s vehicle was wide open. The victim advised that she had a black Passier English side saddle valued at $3,500 and a Tucker Equitation Endurance Trail black and brown saddle with a “U” shaped handle, knee rolls, extra billet holes and copper colored stirrups valued at $2,000. She also advised that she had two black cotton saddle pads, valued at $20 each, with white piping, according to the report.
