Citra man jailed after spat with family member

Jacob Hawk Deavers

An 18-year-old Citra man was arrested on a domestic battery charge after a nasty spat with a family member.

The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that at shortly after midnight Sunday, Jacob Hawk Deavers battered him by throwing a small object at him, striking him in the chest. The victim said Deavers also pushed and shoved him out of his bedroom and into the victim’s room, according to the sheriff’s office report.

Deavers said he and the victim got into an argument because he was tired and the victim kept talking to him. He said he threw a small plastic vial to get the victim to leave him alone. When that didn’t work, he pushed the victim out of his room and into the victim’s room, which is on the other side of the residence, the report said.

Deavers was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was released on his own recognizance. He’ll appear in Marion County Court on Dec. 3.
