Escalade-driving Ocala man charged with driving without a license

Robert Lee Brobst

An Ocala man who failed to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Bahia and Water roads was charged with driving without a license on Monday night.

Robert Lee Brobst, 33, of 3 Pecan Drive, was behind the wheel of a white Cadillac Escalade when he was pulled over by a Marion County sheriff’s deputy shortly after 11 p.m. When asked for his driver’s license, Brobst said he didn’t have it and that it was not valid, according to the sheriff’s report.

A computer search revealed Brobst’s license has two current indefinite suspensions – one from May 2018 for defaulting on court-ordered financial obligations from a DUI and the other in June 2018 for failing to pay child support, the report said.

Bropst was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was still being held Thursday on $10,000 bond. He’s due in Marion County Court on Nov. 11.
