Reddick man jailed after lady friend claims he yanked her out of pickup truck

Calvosia Lamar Bradley

A Reddick man was arrested earlier this week after a woman told Marion County sheriff’s deputies that he had thrown her out of his truck.

Deputies were called Sunday to a residence in the 9800 block of NW Gainesville Road in Ocala and when they arrived, the woman told them what had taken place between her and 57-year-old Calvosia Lamar Bradley. She showed deputies a bruise on her knee and they called medics to come check her out, a sheriff’s office report states.

A witness who stays at the same address in a building that resembles a chicken coop with wire on its sides said he could see the truck’s interior lights on with the woman sitting in the passenger seat. He said he saw Bradley open the passenger door, grab the woman, throw her out of the truck and drive away, the report says.

Deputies then made contact with Bradley, who was adjudicated guilty on Nov. 5 for domestic battery against the same woman. He claimed she showed up at his residence, in the 12300 block of NW 39th Circle in Reddick, complaining of breathing problems, so he gave her a ride. He said he knew doing so would violate his bond conditions, the report says.

A deputy then read Bradley his rights and he invoked his right to remain silent. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery (second or subsequent offense). He was released late Monday night on $500 bond and is due in court Dec. 17.

Bradley also was arrested in October on a sex offender violation for failing to report a name or residence change. And he was arrested in September for battery.
