Belleview man arrested after bloodied woman claims he punched her in the eye

Danny Frank Williams

A Belleview man was arrested early Thursday morning after his lady friend claimed he punched her in the eye.

The victim told Marion County sheriff’s deputies that she and 57-year-old Danny Frank Williams had been arguing about people being at their residence when he struck her in the right eye with his fist. Deputies noted that the woman had a small, bloody laceration on her right eyebrow, the report says.

Williams admitted that he and the victim had been in a verbal altercation the night before but claimed she had been swinging a curling iron around and “possibly hit herself in the head.” He said he went to sleep and was awakened by her yelling that “she was calling the cops.” He also said the altercation never turned physical, the report says.

Williams was then taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery. He was released late Friday night on $500 bond and is due in court Feb. 19 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge.
