Violent tiff with gal pal over surprise tattoo lands Citra woman in jail

Denise Angelina Palmese

A 53-year-old Citra woman was jailed recently after a violent altercation with her gal pal over money and a tattoo.

The victim told Marion County sheriff’s deputies that after the two argued, she showed Denise Angelina Palmese her new tattoo – even though she knew she didn’t want her to get one. She said Palmese hit her in the face and in her side under the armpit, the report says, adding that the victim’s right cheek and lower jaw area were red.

The victim said she couldn’t remember if Palmese hit her with an open or closed fist. But while speaking with deputies, she yelled across the room and asked Palmese if she slapped or her punched her. Palmese responded, “I slapped you!” the report says.

Palmese was then placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with domestic battery. She is due in court April 22 at 8 a.m.
