The 13th annual Applaud the Arts will bring Starry Night to life in downtown Ocala next month.
The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 8 and is being hosted at the Marion Theatre (50 South Magnolia Ave.), which recently celebrated its grand reopening under new management.
This year’s theme, Starry Night, will focus on the world’s first fully painted feature film, Loving Vincent. The film is an animated biography about the life of painter Vincent van Gogh, with a special focus on the circumstances surrounding his death. Each one of the film’s 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, created using the same techniques as van Gogh by a team of 125 international artists.
Each guest will receive a gift box of prepared and packaged tapas and small bites.
Tickets will be sold in groups of one, two or four, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the program beginning at 6:15 p.m.
