Gal pal claims man kept her inside vehicle and threatened to post ‘intimate videos’

Adrian Dimon Starker

A Citra man was arrested Thursday night after his lady friend claimed he had refused to let her out of his vehicle and threatened to post “intimate videos” of her online.

The victim, who was walking along a roadway, told deputies that she had asked her mother to call 911 to report the crime. She said the incident started at her mother’s house after 23-year-old Adrian Dimon Starker drove her there to pick up clothes, a sheriff’s office report states.

The victim said she told Starker that she wanted to stay at her mother’s house and he said she had to go with him or he would post the videos. She said she “felt compelled” to get in his vehicle to prevent him from posting the videos, which she said would “injure her reputation, the report says.

The victim said Starker told her he was going to slap her when they got home and she asked him to let her out of his vehicle to prevent the verbal altercation from escalating. She said Starker stopped at a stop sign and she opened the passenger door and attempted to get out of the vehicle before he sped up to prevent her from leaving.

The victim said she asked Starker several times to let her out of the vehicle but he refused. She said he eventually drove her all the way to N.W. 142nd Place and N. U.S. Hwy. 441 before finally letting her out.

Deputies made contact with Starker in the 2100 block of N.W. 142nd Place. He claimed he had returned to the location to check on the victim. He was then read his rights and agreed to speak with deputies, the report says.

Starker initially claimed that he and the victim hadn’t been involved in any kind of argument, nor that she wanted to exit his vehicle. He said he drove the victim to her mother’s house to pick up clothing, the report says.

Several minutes after being taken into custody and placed in handcuffs, Starker told deputies, “I will tell you the truth if you will let me go.” He then “changed his story” and admitted to being in a verbal confrontation with the victim. He admitted to having “intimate photos” of the victim but denied making threats to post them online, the report says.

Starker, who lives in the 2400 block of N.W. 142nd Pl. in Citra, was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with domestic false imprisonment and extortion/threats. He was released Friday night on $25,000 bond and is due in court Dec. 1 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
