A 32-year-old Ocala man was arrested recently after an Ocala Police officer saw him throwing small plastic bags out of his driver’s-side window during a traffic stop.

The officer stopped Corenzo Florence’s white Ford Focus after watching him fail to stop at a stop bar and then fail to obey a traffic signal. Florence slowly came to a stop near N.W. 9th Avenue and the officer scanned the roadway and located a small plastic baggie containing one white oval pill and another baggie containing a crystal-like substance. The items field-tested positive for Percocet and MDMA, an Ocala Police report states, adding that the officer’s in-car camera captured accurate video footage of Florence tossing the items out his window.

Corenzo Florence was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription (MDMA), possession of a controlled substance without a prescription (Percocet) and tampering with evidence. His bond also was revoked on a past charge of possession of heroin. He was being held on $12,000 bond and is due in court May 11 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
