Ocala teenager shot, killed at Sutton Place apartments

A 16-year-old Ocala boy was shot and killed at Sutton Place apartments last night. 

Ocala Police Department reports that the 16-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was shot around 9:30 p.m. last night at the apartment complex, which is located at 523 NE 23rd Circle. 

The victim was transported to the hospital and, according to social media posts from OPD, died from his injuries just after midnight last night. 

Detectives are investigating the scene and the police department is currently working with the victim’s family.
