Construction of Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training center progressing rapidly

Construction of the new Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training center is progressing rapidly at its southwest Ocala location.

The FAST organization posted drone footage captured by by Geo2030 Consulting, LLC of the building’s nearly completed exterior. Watch Geo2030 Consulting’s video here:

In July the development team, Parrish McCall Constructors, celebrated a topping-out milestone for the facility, which is scheduled to open in March 2022.

According to the company, FAST will have both indoor and outdoor pools in order to host swim meets for local, state, and national competitors.

The aquatics facility will feature an Olympic competition pool with a deck space for up to 800 swimmers and over 2,000 spectator seats. The facility will also feature an indoor dry land fitness center, scoreboards, rooms, and community meeting spaces, among other amenities.

After the U.S. Olympic Trials were completed earlier this year, a Myrtha warm-up pool was purchased by the Circle Square Foundation for use at the facility.

The construction is one of many residential and commercial projects slated for the southwest Ocala corridor, including multiple projects within On Top of the World, the city’s largest retirement community.
