The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in northwest Ocala on Monday night.
At approximately 9 p.m., MCSO deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 3400 block of NW 16th Avenue.
Upon arrival, the deputies located two individuals, 36-year-old Latoya Reaves and a 43-year-old unidentified man, who had both sustained gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The 43-year-old victim was treated for his injuries and was later released from the hospital.
On Tuesday, Reaves passed away due to her injuries.
MCSO Major Crimes Detectives are currently investigating the shooting and are seeking more information about the events that led to the shooting and Reaves’ death.
