Multiple collection sites in Marion County participating in Drug Take Back Day on April 30

Multiple collection sites across Marion County will be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this weekend.

The program will take place on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations in Ocala and Dunnellon:

  • Ocala Police Department front atrium (402 S Pine Avenue in Ocala).
  • Marion County Sheriff’s Office multi-district office (3260 SE 80th Street in Ocala).
  • Marion County Sheriff’s Office southwest district office (9048 SW State Road 200 in Ocala).
  • Dunnellon Police Department (12014 S Williams Street in Dunnellon).

The one-day event will give Marion County residents an opportunity to dispose of their unused or unwanted prescription medications.

According to the DEA, the previous National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, which was held on October 23, 2021, resulted in the combined collection of 744,082 pounds of prescription medication across the United States.
