MCPS School Choice and Community Resource Expo heads to WEC next week

Marion County Public Schools will host its annual School Choice and Community Resource Expo next week at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala.

The event will be held inside WEC’s Expo Center 2, and it will showcase local public schools and the abundance of academic options that are available to students, parents, and families.

The expo is part of the Family Engagement and Parent Partnership outreach efforts of Marion County Public Schools, and it allows students, parents, and families to learn about the different school choice options offered by MCPS while visiting various community resources in one location.

According to MCPS, the goal of the expo is to provide families with a ‘one-stop shop’ experience to learn about school choice options while providing direct links to district and community resources.

The application window to apply for school choice, magnet, and Career Academy options will open on the day of the expo, and applications will be accepted through January 31, 2023.

To apply for school choice, visit the Marion County Public Schools website, click on the “Student Enrollment and School Choice” tab, and then click on “Apply To School Choice” to begin the application process.

Parents and families must provide their own transportation if accepted into school choice programs since the district does not provide transportation for out-of-area placements.

For more information, please contact the School Choice office at 352-671-7743.

The World Equestrian Center is located at 1750 NW 80th Avenue in Ocala.
