Marion County deputies looking for missing, endangered 70-year-old man

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help from the public to locate a missing and endangered 70-year-old man who was last seen leaving a Veterans of Foreign Wars event in Salt Springs on Saturday, April 1.

John Joseph Fergus, Jr. left the event on Saturday at approximately 5 p.m., and he was last seen driving a 2020 gray Hyundai Elantra. He was wearing brown slacks and a light blue shirt, and he is believed to be traveling towards the Fort McCoy area, according to MCSO.

The sheriff’s office stated that there are concerns for John’s well-being since he has displayed signs of dementia.
