Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods is asking for the public’s help to locate a 38-year-old man who is wanted for sexually abusing a child under the age of 12.
During his regular “Wanted by Woods Wednesday” segment on Facebook, Sheriff Woods asked for assistance with finding Gregorio Garcia Lopez. He is wanted for capital sexual battery on a victim less than 12 years of age, two counts of sexual battery, and four counts of lewd or lascivious molestation.
According to Sheriff Woods, Garcia Lopez spent four years sexually abusing the juvenile victim. Shortly after the victim came forward and contacted law enforcement, Garcia Lopez “took off,” and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
“What sick type of person does this to a child? This vile man does not need to be walking around freely; he needs to be in my jail,” stated Sheriff Woods.
