To the Editor:
I was a citizen of Ocala back in the day. I went to Forest High, and when summer hit, Wild Waters was the place to be. I graduated, went off to college, and had kids. My kids got a chance to experience the fun of Wild Waters, and this magical and magnificent place is what kept my kids safe and out of trouble. They loved going to grandma’s house for the summer.
Please bring Wild Waters, or a water park, back. Tarzan was filmed at Silver Springs, and Wild Waters was a reminder of how beautiful Silver Springs is, as well as a reminder of how Ocala is a wonderful place to be. Ask John Travolta to help put history back in Ocala, he can do it.
Nowadays, I don’t even come home much because Wild Waters is gone, Silver Springs is gone, and not to mention Six Gun Territory is gone too. These historical places are what put Ocala on the map for tourists. Not just the horses, but a place where every family loved to come visit. The state should be ashamed of themselves for taking these historical places from the world. Please bring some of it back.
