A Marion Oaks resident shared a video with Ocala-News.com of a black bear that visited his neighborhood last month.
On June 1, 2023, shortly after 7:40 p.m., a black bear visited Michael Zbyszewski’s home in Marion Oaks. The bear was captured on video walking down Michael’s driveway and into a neighbor’s yard.
Several readers have also spotted black bears in Marion County in recent weeks. Jennifer Erskin submitted a photo of a black bear that approached a bird feeder in the backyard of a southwest Ocala home. The bear stole the feeder and ate its contents.
Matt Mcgrath shared a photo of a black bear eating from the bird feeder in the yard of a home in Summerfield.
A black bear was also spotted by Ruth Webb in an Ocklawaha backyard eating bird seed from a bird feeder that had been pushed over. The bear continued to eat the contents until he was chased away.
