‘Exciting Explorers’ exhibit heads to Discovery Center next month

A new exploration-themed exhibit will arrive at the Discovery Center in September.

The science center’s newest exhibit, Exciting Explorers, will open to the public on Saturday, September 9. The interactive exhibit will allow guests to “go on a high-seas adventure or trek into dark tombs filled with artifacts,” according to a press release from the City of Ocala.

Throughout the exhibit, children and adults will learn how explorers discover new worlds while navigating and expanding their knowledge of uncharted territories. Visitors will also get to take on the role of archeologist while learning about the preservation of artifacts, as well as becoming a scientist and using their imagination for future discoveries.

Exciting Explorers will remain on display through Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Discovery Center, which is located at 701 NE Sanchez Avenue. The science center is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
