Railroad crossing installation to cause temporary closure on Emerald Road

Motorists can expect a temporary road closure on Emerald Road in Ocala, at the railroad crossing between Emerald Trace and SW 79th Avenue Road, beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28.

The road closure will remain in effect until 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, according to the Marion County Office of the County Engineer.

R.W. Summers Railroad Contractor, Inc. will be working for the Florida Northern Railroad to install a railroad crossing. Equipment and personnel will be in the county right-of-way.

Crews will place barricades and signs to detour traffic around the work zones. Travelers should expect delays and use alternate routes when possible. The road will be passable for local traffic only.

Adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances may affect schedules.
