Two drivers were hospitalized on Tuesday evening after their vehicles collided at an intersection in northeast Ocala.
At around 6:10 p.m., several Marion County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the intersection of NE Jacksonville Road and NE 56th Street after receiving reports of an accident with rollover.
Crews from MCFR’s Anthony Station arrived on scene at 6:18 p.m., and they quickly inspected the scene of the accident.
Additional MCFR units also arrived at the intersection to assist with freeing a driver who was trapped in an overturned vehicle.
MCFR crews began extricating the driver shortly before 6:25 p.m., and they managed to free the driver from the wreckage at 6:31 p.m.
The freed driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was also taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to MCFR.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
The names, ages, and genders of the drivers involved in the accident were not released by Marion County Fire Rescue.
