A women’s clothing company specializing in dresses and apparel for all occasions just expanded into Ocala, joining several similar businesses that have recently opened in the city.
Windsor, which specializes in women’s dresses for all occasions, celebrated its grand opening at the Paddock Mall last week.
Windsor sells women’s dresses, tops, skirts, denim, shoes, and other apparel and accessories for life’s “special occasions,” according to the company.
Founded in 1937 by two brothers as a hosiery and lingerie store, the brand started selling special occasion dresses in 1957. In 1998, the company launched its online store.
Since its founding, Windsor has opened 200 stores around the nation, including multiple locations in the state of Florida.
With its opening, Windsor joins multiple other women’s clothing stores that have celebrated grand openings in Ocala over the past year, including another store in the Paddock Mall.
Torrid opened its first establishment at the mall late last year. The company sells plus-size women’s clothing and operates over 600 locations across the country.
Last month, Sydney Elise Co., which had success selling clothing online for several years, opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Ocala.
Karishma Boutique, which launched its high-end boutique brand in 2016, opened in a new location in downtown Ocala in late 2023.
