Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is nearing completion on its first location in Ocala, with plans to open soon and a grand opening promotion that will give one customer free gyros for a year.
The new restaurant has been gearing up to open at 4414 SW College Road, Suite #316, within the Market Street at Heath Brook shopping plaza in southwest Ocala.
Ocala-News.com first reported the construction of the new Great Greek Mediterranean Grill in April.
Although a specific opening date has not yet been announced, in several social media posts, the restaurant says it is “coming soon.”
Last month, Jazzy Jordan Art, a Charleston-based artist, shared photos of some of the artwork at the new restaurant.
There are currently around 68 Great Greek Mediterranean Grill locations scattered across the United States, including 13 that are in operation in the state of Florida.
In addition to the location under construction in Ocala, there is also another location under construction in Stuart, according to the company’s website.
Great Greek Mediterranean serves Greek appetizers, dips, sandwiches, platters, entrees, and desserts. The restaurant also features various souvlaki options, falafel plates, and gyros.
When it opens, the Great Greek Mediterranean Grill will replace Pie-O-Mine & Greens, which closed its doors in October 2023.
The Market Street at Heath Brook has seen the additions of several new retailers in the past year and a half, including Crumbl Cookies, which opened its first location in Ocala at the plaza in May, Zuru Ramen Boba, and Pigtails & Crewcuts.
