Ocala woman arrested after allegedly trying to attack man with bat

A 59-year-old Ocala woman was arrested after she allegedly swung a bat multiple times in an attempt to attack a victim.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident along SW 98th Terrace on Sunday, August 29 after a victim called in to report that Lana Lucas had attempted to strike him with a bat.

The victim claims that Lucas demanded he pack his things and move out, according to the report. The victim says that as he was picking up his belongings, Lucas picked up his bat and began swinging it, hitting the interior walls of the residence. The victim says that Lucas followed him into another room and swung the bat forcefully towards him. He says he was able to block the bat with his duffel bag.

A witness confirmed that a verbal altercation had taken place and that he saw Lucas hit an interior wall of the residence with the bat.

Upon making contact with Lucas, the MCSO deputy says that she “immediately became argumentative” and would not listen.

Marion County court records show that Lucas is currently facing a misdemeanor theft charge as the result of a separate arrest on July 26.

Lucas was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $2,000.
