Ocala man jailed after bloody battle over music and clothes with 71-year-old woman

Jason Reeve

A violent battle over loud music and clothes scattered around the house left a 71-year-old Ocala woman covered in blood and a man who lives with her behind bars.

When Marion County sheriff’s deputies arrived at home in the 6400 block of SW 129th Loop last Wednesday, the woman told them that she and 40-year-old Jason Reeve had gotten into a verbal altercation, which continued outside the house after he left the residence. The woman said Reeve walked down a nearby road, then came back and confronted her, a sheriff’s office report states.

The woman told the deputy that the argument escalated when Reeve allegedly punched her in the face “multiple times,” causing her to fall to the ground. She said he then kicked her in the head, arm and torso area before going back inside the residence. The woman also claimed that Reeve is schizophrenic and “she is scared of him,” the report says.

Deputies noted that the woman’s face was covered with blood and she appeared to have a “laceration on the bridge of her nose” and bruises on her arms. She also complained of pain in her ribs and was transported via ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of the injuries, the report says.

After being read his rights, Reeve told deputies that the woman “had been getting on him” for the past year and a half to two years and “he finally couldn’t take it anymore so he kicked her,” the report says.

Reeve also said it’s “nonstop” between the woman and another person who wasn’t identified in the report “who are always blaming him for something.” Reeve also said he’s been taking medication for schizophrenia, the report says.

Reeve was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery on a person 65 years of age or older. He was being held on $2,500 bond and is due in a Marion County courtroom on Feb. 5 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charge.
