Burned-out brake light sets stage for Ocala man’s trip to Marion County Jail

John Orenal Kiser

An Ocala man who was stopped by a Marion County sheriff’s deputy last week for driving a pickup with a burned-out brake light ended up behind bars a short time later.

The deputy stopped a white Ford F-150 truck this past Wednesday morning in the 10900 block of E Hwy. 40 after a computer check showed that its owner, 27-year-old John Orenal Kiser, had a suspended license. Orenal gave the deputy a Washington driver’s license. But records showed that his Florida license was suspended on Dec. 15, 2015 for failure to pay a traffic fine, a sheriff’s office report states, adding that Orenal also was convicted of driving with a suspended license in Marion County in 2010.

After admitting that he knew his license was suspended, Kiser was transported to the Marion County Jail, where he’s been held eight times since December 2009. He was charged with driving with a suspended license (second offense) and released on $500 bond.
