Woman with domestic violence history jailed after man claims she attacked him

Helen F. Allen

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy arrested a Belleview woman with a history of battery charges this past Thursday night after a man claimed she attacked him and then left the residence.

The man also told the deputy that 72-year-old Helen F. Allen was violating her bond conditions from a previous arrest by being at the residence, a sheriff’s office report states, adding that the man said Allen had slapped him on the face, grabbed him by the arms and scratched him.

After Allen was located and brought back the residence, she claimed the man had “pushed her down and they began fighting.” The deputy noted in the report that Allen had “no visible injuries.”

After confirming that Allen had bond conditions prohibiting her from being at the Belleview residence, she was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with domestic battery and violating a previous conditional release.

Allen, who has been in the jail on battery charges three times since December 2017, is being held on $7,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. to answer to the charges.
