A 53-year-old Ocala woman was arrested recently after her man friend claimed she hit him on the head with a pot.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies noted that the man had a lump on the top right portion of his head. The victim also provided deputies with a pot that was dented on the rim. He said he hadn’t initially called law enforcement because he didn’t want to get 53-year-old Jeanette Pittman in trouble. He said he finally decided to report the battery because Pittman “needs help,” a sheriff’s office report says.

Pittman, who deputies reported as a known alcoholic who has been arrested and Baker Acted multiple times, claimed the victim had hit her with a pipe wrench at an unknown time in the past. Deputies noted that she had an injury above her left eye that had been stitched up, the report says.

A deputy attempted to read Pittman her rights but she interrupted him and said she already knew them. She denied hitting the victim with the pot a week earlier and said it actually happened a month earlier, the report says.

Pittman then said she didn’t want to speak with deputies and was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with aggravated battery using a deadly weapon. She was being held on $2,500 bond and is due in court April 27 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
