Horse Fever statue ‘AMPlifier’ heads to Belleview City Hall

A Horse Fever statue, “AMPlifier,” is now on display outside Belleview City Hall.

Earlier this year, the City of Belleview’s employees took part in the Local Leaders Step Challenge, which was hosted by Active Marion Project (AMP) from April 1 through June 30.

During the challenge, five teams consisting of local government agency employees participated in a step challenge based on points accumulated. In addition to the City of Belleview, those teams included the Ocala Police Department, Marion County Commission, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and Marion County School Board.

Challenge participants earned one point for every 100 steps. The City of Belleview’s team of 20 employees accumulated over 6,000 points during the 90-day challenge, which was enough to secure first place by a margin of 445 points.

As the winner of the 2023 Local Leaders Step Challenge, the City of Belleview gets to display the Horse Fever statue “AMPlifier” for at least one year. The statue will remain in front of City Hall, which is located at 5343 SE Abshier Boulevard in Belleview.

This is the first Horse Fever statue to be featured in the south part of Marion County, and the City of Belleview encourages members of the community to stop by to check it out.
