A new veteran-owned martial arts academy is now open in southwest Ocala.
Located across from the Paddock Mall at 3131 SW College Road, Suite 401 in Ocala, Rising Phoenix Martial Arts celebrated its grand opening on October 13, 2023.
Rising Phoenix aims to empower Ocala residents of all ages and skill levels through quality Taekwondo instruction.
The academy offers a “Teen and Adult Martial Arts” program that is based on traditional Taekwondo and will help participants build lean muscle and gain self-defense skills while becoming more confident, focused, and relaxed, according to Rising Phoenix’s website.
A martial arts program for children, including preschoolers, is also available. The business states that these classes focus on “combining the best aspects of physical, mental, and emotional growth.”
During the kids’ classes, participants will learn new skills while being surrounded by a support system that celebrates their successes. Each child will develop improved balance and coordination, faster speed and agility, well-rounded athleticism for any sport, and motivation to challenge themselves and others, according to Rising Phoenix.
In addition, Rising Phoenix states that it will soon offer martial arts classes for seniors and veterans.
“If you’re curious about Martial Arts training, we’re happy to sit down and talk about how fitness, self-defense, skills, unwavering confidence, and pure fun all come together to craft an incredible training experience,” states Rising Phoenix on its website.
Rising Phoenix Martial Arts joins several other businesses that have opened in Ocala in recent months:
The Hitting Academy, a facility with indoor batting cages, opened earlier this summer at 2401 SE 58th Avenue.
The city’s first rage room, Smash Lab of Ocala, opened several months ago at 626 S Pine Avenue in the Pine Plaza.
Stellar Dance Studio celebrated the grand opening of its studio at 3045 SE 3rd Avenue, Suite B in July.
