Ocala woman tosses cocaine out of car window while fleeing traffic stop, deputies say

A 23-year-old Ocala woman is facing felony charges after she allegedly tossed cocaine out of her car window while fleeing from a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy who saw her run a stop sign.

On Wednesday, the MCSO deputy observed a Nissan Altima running a stop sign at the intersection of Locust Road and Oak Road in Ocala. The arrest report stated that as the deputy pulled behind the car to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle turned on its hazard lights and traveled slowly on Oak Track Pass.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Kadriana Antonique Morrison, turned onto Oak Track Drive and continued traveling slowly on the roadway. The deputy activated the patrol vehicle’s siren and instructed Morrison via a public address intercom to pull over her car, according to the report.

The deputy noted that Morrison drove back to the intersection of Locust Road and Oak Road, and she was allegedly observed dropping a white baggie from the driver’s side window. She then continued traveling on Locust Road before turning northbound onto Locust Pass Lane, and the pursuit came to an end when she parked near a residence.

The report stated that Morrison was the driver and sole occupant of the car, and she was detained in handcuffs. During a search of her car, a

An MCSO deputy was able to locate the white baggie that had allegedly been thrown out of the vehicle by Morrison. According to the report, the baggie weighed four grams and contained a substance that field-tested positive for cocaine.

The report also stated that during a search of Morrison’s car, a “bundle of money” totaling $520 was found on the passenger seat.

After being read her Miranda rights, Morrison admitted to driving the car. She further admitted to seeing a law enforcement officer attempt to pull over her vehicle, and she claimed that she continued driving because she “did not want to stop until she was in an area with better lighting,” according to the report.

A criminal history search of Morrison revealed prior felony convictions in Marion County for possession of cocaine in 2022 and tampering/destroying evidence in 2023.

Morrison was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail, where she is currently being held without bond. She is being charged with fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer and possession of cocaine.

A court date has been scheduled at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, according to jail records.
