Halloween, fall festivals across Marion County this week

Multiple organizations will host fall festivals and Halloween-themed events across Marion County this week.

On Wednesday, The Humane Society of Marion County will host a Howl-o-Ween Paw-ty at the SE Livestock Pavilion from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost to attend is $5 per adult and all kids under the age of 12, as well as pets, are free.

On Friday, the Marion Oaks Community Center will host a free trick or treat event in the Ocala area from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will include live music, games, candy and family-friendly activities. The center is located at 294 Marion Oaks Lane in Ocala.

On Saturday, October 30, a collection of events will take place:

  • Marion County Parks and Recreation Department will host a trunk or treat event at the Forest Community Center from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The Forest Community Center is located at 777 S Hwy 314-A.
  • The city of Belleview will host a trunk or treat event at Lake Lillian Park (SE Robinson Road) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host a Boo Bash at the E.D. Croskey Center from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The indoor event will include trick or treating, crafts, and family-friendly activities.
  • For those interested in exercise, the city will co-host a Halloween Family Fun Run from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event costs $5 and all proceeds will benefit the United Way of Marion County.

On Halloween, October 31, even more events will take place:

  • Grow Belleview will host a trunk or treat from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 5053 SE Abshier Boulevard. The free event will include music, games, and candy.
  • Wings of Faith Fellowship will host a Family Fall-Fest starting at 6 p.m. at the church, which is located at 5066 SE 64th Avenue Road in Ocala.
  • The Marion Therapeutic Riding Association will host a Not-so-Spooky Halloween Drive-Thru from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The family-friendly, drive-thru event will include 20 sensory-friendly trunk or treating stations, horse costumes, and a photo booth. The association is located at 6850 SE 41st Court in Ocala.
