A new Chick-fil-A at the intersection of SW College Road and SW 48th Avenue in Ocala is taking shape as construction crews make progress towards its completion.
In recent weeks, crews have been moving quickly to complete the exterior of the 5,875-square-foot, one-story building that will house the popular chicken franchise’s third location in Ocala.



No opening date has been announced for the new Chick-fil-A, which is located at 5048 SW 48th Avenue in Ocala. Currently, the fast-food restaurant operates two other locations in Ocala, both of which are located along SW College Road.
The new Chick-fil-A restaurant will be located next to multiple businesses that have opened up in the past couple years, including RaceWash, Culver’s, CarMax, and Chicken Salad Chick.
Chick-fil-A joins other restaurants across the city that are in various stages of construction, including many that have opened new locations earlier this year.
On October 9, K-Pot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot opened its first restaurant in Ocala at 2621 SW 19th Avenue.

In October, family-owned sandwich shop Connotto’s opened its doors in southeast Ocala at 3751 SE 36th Avenue. The eatery took over the former location of a vegan cafe that closed a couple years ago.
The Flame Indian Kitchen opened its new restaurant at 3710 SW College Road, next to I-75, in September.

J Marie Brands, which sells specialty cheesecakes, celebrated the grand opening of its first brick-and-mortar location in Ocala.
The District Bar & Kitchen celebrated the opening of its new restaurant in downtown Ocala this summer. That restaurant was built from the ground up, replacing former tenant Pi on Broadway.

Remington’s Prime Steakhouse is currently renovating the former location of Blue Waygu, which closed up shop in west Ocala last year.
Fat Boys BBQ reopened its iconic location in east Ocala after new ownership conducted extensive renovations at the property, which is located at 4132 E Silver Springs Boulevard.

In addition to the others, Crave BBQ and Hot Dogs, Big Lee’s BBQ, Sweet ‘N Savory Eats, Morelli’s Pizza and Subs, and Slice all opened new locations this summer.
